The Daring Way Intensive

The Daring Way™:  Show Up, Be Seen, Live Brave™.

These groups and workshop experiences are based on the work of Dr. Brené Brown Ph.D. LMSW, a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past twelve years studying vulnerability, courage, worthiness, and shame and her groundbreaking research has been featured on PBS, NPR, CNN, The Katie Show, and Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday

Brené is the author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller, Daring Greatly: How the Courage to Be Vulnerable Transforms the way we Live, Love, Parent, and Lead (2012), the New York Times Bestseller, The Gifts of Imperfection (2010) and
I Thought It Was Just Me (2007).

Brené’s 2010 TEDx Houston talk, The Power of Vulnerability, is one of the top ten most viewed TED talks in the world, with over 11 million viewers. Additionally, Brené gave the closing talk at the 2012 TED conference where she talked about shame, courage, and innovation.  View here:

Joan Bruce, LMFT, CDW- candidate and Kay Arnold, LPC, MHSP, NCC, CDW- candidate are both Certified Daring Way Facilitator candidates with Dr. Brené Brown.  To learn more about Joan and Kay, you can find our bios under the staff tab.

If you are not familiar with Brené Brown’s work, check out her website at www.thedaringway.com or listen to one of her TED talks on You Tube.  You will soon find her to be a warm, knowledgeable, and refreshing voice about vulnerability, courage, and whole-hearted living.  Brené’s work is transforming individuals, marriages, families, and the work place, and it is powerful because it is tapping into what we were all profoundly and deeply created for…. love and belonging.

By participating in one of our The Daring Way™ groups or workshops, you will have the opportunity to  explore how to live bravely every day by showing up in the arenas of your life and relationships to become and offer the best, most authentic version of you.  The Daring Way™ is based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, and was created with the primary focus on developing shame resilience skills and a courage practice that transforms the way we live, love, parent, and lead. Guided by Joan and Kay, we will learn from a library of Brené’s videos uniquely created for these workshops and groups, and then we will tap into the power of a group experience to gain the courage and hope from one another’s stories to delve into the arenas of our lives, and be empowered to learn that we are not alone.

If you desire to live more authentically and are wondering how, or needing the tools and courage to do so, then we would invite you to consider attending one of our upcoming seminars.

The Daring Way™ can be facilitated in clinical, educational  and corporate settings and is suitable for work with individuals, couples, families, work teams, and organizational leaders.  Joan and Kay are available to offer this experience in a variety of formats to your church, work organization, or men’s & women’s groups/clubs.   Please contact us to discuss any ideas you may have.
