My background began in the world of finance, which I continue to do to this day. I always had an interest in human behavior and why we do the things we do. About 25 years ago, I became involved in an organization that applied concepts from the field of psychology dealing with how we handle our finances and relationships. I taught workshops and worked with individuals to bring awareness to how our complaints/worries tell us a lot about what we believe, and the role of purpose in directing our life decisions.  That led to getting a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca University.  
I’ve been married for over 30 years, have two grown sons, serve on the Board of Directors for Trevecca, and have many hobbies, including music (drums), photography, and exercise.
