Joanna Michael
Master’s Level Counselor Under Supervision
I am a compassionate and highly skilled counselor specializing in trauma therapy for children and adolescents in the Hendersonville area. I draw from a wealth of experience, offering a unique and empathetic approach to healing. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a powerful method for helping people process distressing memories and find relief from the effects of trauma.
Having lived overseas for a significant portion of my adult life, I have a special passion for supporting missionary families and their children, understanding first-hand the unique challenges they face. My ability to provide therapy in both English and Spanish is a vital resource for many individuals and families.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from Union University and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Liberty University. When I am not at work, you can find me at home in Hendersonville with my husband and three kids, often indulging in myfavorite hobbies: cooking, reading, or painting. I approach therapy with a blend of professional rigor and a warm, inviting spirit, and am dedicated to fostering resilience and joy in the lives of my clients.
