Beth Baxter, MD

Psychiatrist

Dr. Baxter joined the Babb Center as a psychiatrist in 2006. She has been practicing psychiatry since receiving her medical degree from Vanderbilt University in 1990 and her psychiatric residency from the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY.

Dr. Baxter enjoys working with people spanning the ages from young through senior adulthood. She works with people with a variety of mental health needs, including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and substance use concerns. She values working as a team with clients and their therapists to provide well-rounded and focused mental health treatment. Dr Baxter has personal experience with mental illness and has worked for many years as an advocate for persons with mental health needs, sharing her personal story of recovery from severe mental illness.

Dr. Baxter lives in Nashville and enjoys being with her parents and her friends. She is active in her church and enjoys activities of baking and knitting.
